The Canadian Gaming Summit Awards Reception and Charity Gala has, since its inception 13 years ago, honoured achievements in industry leadership. Nominations for the Annual Canadian Gaming Industry Awards are now closed. The 2009 Award winners will be honoured for long-term Industry Leadership and Outstanding Contribution or an individual or organization for Exemplary Volunteerism and Community Service during the Gala.

GALA ENTERTAINMENT – CELEBRATING 50 YEARS OF MOTOWN

The Miracles, The Contours featuring Sylvester Potts, The Original Vandellas and Marvin Gaye Tribute featuring Tee Turner.

The Motown Sound went worldwide in the 60s, and that sound still resonates today. Motown stands for more then just the music: it is a reflection of the hard work of dedicated individuals overcoming incredible obstacles to achieve great success. A star-studded show of Motown’s finest act’s will perform at the 2009 Canadian Gaming Summit’s Awards Reception and Charity Gala in celebration of the 50th Anniversary of Motown. And everyone can sing along.

The Miracles were the group most responsible for establishing the Motown sound and went on to become one of Motown's signature acts of the 1960s. During their nineteen year run on the American music charts, Twenty-six Miracles songs reached the Top Ten of the Billboard R&B singles chart, including four R&B number ones.

The Contours featuring Sylvester Potts, have proudly worn the label “Motown’s #1 party group” for more than 40 years. Today under the leadership of original member Sylvester Potts, The Contours are center stage once again.

The Vandellas unique soulful harmonies are unmistakable and remain etched in the memories of millions. They became one of the most significant and prolific girl groups of all time with over twenty-six charted hits, including two R&B number ones.

Tee Turner, a superb vocalist with the haunting qualities of Marvin Gaye, will perform a Tribute to the original artist.
