3:10pm-4:00pm Supervisor Roadmap

How do I become a supervisor? With over 5,000 employees, this is a question we often hear from our front-line employees. With a mandate to build rather than buy talent, OLG created a Supervisor Roadmap. The program is a self-directed journey that supports employees in taking charge of their gaming careers. The journey takes employees through 5 phases – exploration, development, selection, onboarding and performance management. The employee’s journey is supported with self-assessments, classroom training, online tutorials, support tools, and conversations with their manager. Expected results are improved employee engagement, increased benchstrength and enhanced on the job performance.

2:40pm-3:30pm Who is really running your business? Hint - it is not you.

Casinos have long known the importance of strategically building loyal relationships with their customers yet run their business in a way that separates them from the customer who comes through the door. Sun Tzu claims that to succeed in war, one should have full knowledge of one's own strengths and weaknesses, that lack of this knowledge will result in defeat. In this dynamic and interactive session you will quickly learn how to see the strengths and weaknesses in how you view your business and how to construct a leadership pipeline strong enough to reach your frontline and maintain your organization's vision and strategic direction.

Brent J. Fleming, CHRP, Vice President of Human Resources, Organizational Development, Paragon Gaming
